About Us
Located at the Eastern Gateway of Downtown Colorado Springs, Cottonwood Center for the Arts is one of the largest regional visual arts centers to feature more than 36,000 square feet of permanent space to host artwork, private studio space, class rooms, galleries and cultural events. Voted as the region's best place to find emerging artists of quality and vision, you will find seventy private studios with emerging and established local artists and a thriving artist community with an eclectic venue of styles and mediums.
This arrangement brings artists together from throughout the Pikes Peak region to share studio space and their experience with each other and the public. Cottonwood offers weekly life drawing, classes & workshops taught by professional working artists throughout the year for all levels of experience. Receiving as many as one-thousand visitors monthly, Cottonwood hosts two main galleries with an open house reception every last Friday of the month. Last Fridays are a fun casual affair, open to the public allowing visitors to view and purchase artwork in the galleries and studios, meet with the artists directly and discover firsthand the world of visual arts.
More than a fine arts center, Cottonwood maintains its mission to empower the community through the arts by partnering with organizations like the Adduce foundation, The Vet Center and others to bring scholarship opportunities to those in need.
